The Chicago Jewish Historical Society is proud to begin its fourth decade as the only
organization uniquely devoted to the history of the Chicago Jewish community. We invite you to become a member of the Society so you can play an active role in this important mission.

You may have already had the pleasure of attending our stimulating public programs
(free and open to the public), reading our fascinating quarterly journal Chicago Jewish History, or participating in our expertly guided day tours. If so, you have learned a great deal and been impressed with the kind of programming that only the CJHS offers.

Did you know that the Society also conducts numerous projects to discover and preserve Chicago Jewish history? We publish works of new historical material, offer research awards to students, and gather oral histories. Our Board of Directors is composed of scholars, activists, and community leaders, all devoted to promoting the heritage of Chicago Jewry. The CJHS works closely with the Chicago Jewish Archives and the Asher Library, Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies, and our office is located in the splendid new Spertus building.
